Joining your team’s pilot

Your company is trying tenby10 with your team. Here is what it records, who sees what, and how to set it up. Do the steps before the setup call, or on it with us.

What it records, and who sees it

The app runs on the computer you work on. It counts activity in ten-minute intervals, sorts the time by kind of work, and signs each interval on your computer as it closes, so nobody can change it later without it showing.

Nobody sees your hours until you share a link. For the pilot you share one with your manager, and it shows:

  • your active time and the days you worked
  • each ten-minute interval, how much of it was active, and whether it counted
  • your daily notes, which you can correct or withdraw
  • the rules that scored your time

It never shows your screen, your window titles, the websites you visit or what you type, because tenby10 never receives them. Your AI receives app names, window titles and activity counts for each minute, to score your time and write your notes. With a model on your own computer, they never leave it. Everything a link shows

Each week everyone on the team gets the same short report, and your team’s client gets one email with each person’s hours and link.

Before you start

  • The computer you work on, a Mac or a Windows PC.
  • An AI for your daily notes: an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini, or a model running on your own computer. The key is kept in your computer’s keychain and never sent to tenby10.

Set it up

  1. 01

    Create your account

Go to tenby10.pivotalpoint.io/signup, sign up with Google or your email, and confirm your email address.

  2. 02

    Install the app

In your dashboard, choose Add device and download the app for your computer.

On Windows, SmartScreen warns that the publisher is unknown, because the installer isn’t code-signed yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway.

  3. 03

    Allow the permissions (Mac)

In the app, open Settings with the gear, then Permissions, and turn on Input Monitoring, Accessibility, Screen Recording and Automation.

macOS asks for Screen Recording because it only gives window titles to apps that hold it. tenby10 reads the titles, never an image of your screen: it has no screen capture code.

You’re done when Is it working? shows activity counting and readable window titles. If the titles stay blank, quit tenby10 fully and open it again.

  4. 04

    Pair your computer

Back in Add device, name this computer with your own name, because it is the name on your links. Choose Get pairing code, paste the code into the app under Settings, Connect, and choose Link device.

  5. 05

Leave the app lists for the call

Under Settings, What counts, three lists decide which apps count as productive, meetings or distracting. We go through them with your team on the setup call.

  6. 06

    Turn on AI scoring

Under Settings, AI scoring, switch it on, choose your provider and paste your API key. Leave the model and the API base URL blank to use the defaults. Keep Daily work notes on, leave both prompts as they are, and choose Save Settings.

To use a model on your own computer instead, such as Ollama, choose OpenAI as the provider, set the API base URL to http://localhost:11434/v1 and the model to the one you run. No key is needed.

  7. 07

Share your link with your manager

In your dashboard, open your computer and choose New verified link. Type your manager’s name, and set the dates to the first and last day of the pilot. Leave Hide focus averages ticked and the weekly summary off. Choose Create verified link, then copy the link and send it to your manager.

Day to day

  • The app records while it runs. Pause it for anything personal: nothing is recorded until you resume, and nobody is told.
  • Each daily note waits 12 hours on your computer before it is sent, so you can correct or withdraw it first. You can withdraw it later too, and it disappears from your link.
  • If the weekly report asks about a day, answer it. A question is only a question, and it never changes your hours.

If you leave, or the pilot ends

  • Revoke your link in the dashboard whenever you want. It stops showing your hours straight away.
  • Your records stay in your account until you delete it. To delete your account and everything in it, email privacy@pivotalpoint.io. It is done within 30 days.
  • The app keeps its own copy on your computer. It is yours to keep or delete.
